You are the on-call Metropolitan Police Murder Squad DCI covering London an area the size of 620 square miles serving more than eight million people across one of the world's most dynamic and diverse cities. Your team have been on duty for the week and it is finally the weekend when you are expecting a murder to happen somewhere in the City.
It is 0200 hours on Sunday and you are asleep at home in Hertfordshire. The night duty Homicide Assessment Team (HAT), consists of one of your Detective Sergeants; Richard Ornsby and two Detective Constables; Helen Tremble and Mark Evans. They will deal with the initial response to any suspicious death during the night. Your mobile phone rings next to your bed and you wake up and answer it. It is DS Ornsby and there has been a murder.....
